The establishment of "Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies Outstanding Doctoral Research Award"

The Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies (SGS) is committed to promote excellence in research and postgraduate education and to foster an ambiance for graduate studies. 

To celebrate the University’s 30th Anniversary and to encourage students to strive for excellence in their research studies, we are pleased to announce the establishment of the "Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies Outstanding Doctoral Research Award".  The establishment of this award aims to recognize exceptional research work achieved by PhD graduates and to encourage the highest levels of research and writing.  Up to two awards will be given every year. Each awardee will receive an award certificate and a one-off cash prize of HK$20,000.

To be eligible for consideration of the award, the candidate must be an awardee of the "Outstanding Research Thesis Award"1 and will have his/her PhD degree conferred in the 2014 Congregation2.

Nominations must be submitted by the College/School for consideration in September 2014.

  2. The Senate has designated three graduation dates every year (in February, July and October) following the end of a Semester/Term when students of all levels of study are considered to have formally graduated from the University.
