Application Procedures and Details

  1. Students are required to fill an application form and submit it, together with a photocopy of their academic transcript(s) for previous academic qualification obtained, to the coordinating offices of their home institutions for endorsement. Applications without the home institution's endorsement would not be processed.
  2. If an applicant has outstanding fees/payment with CityU, he/she should settle the outstanding fees/payments in full before being allowed to enroll in the course(s).
  3. Late application should be submitted with the written approvals (email approvals are also accepted) from the course examiner and the Head of the course offering department, otherwise, the application will NOT be processed.

     

Course Registration

  1. Students will be officially registered for the course and are required to participate fully in the course, which includes completion of coursework and an examination, if applicable. Students should observe the rules and regulations prescribed by CityU during course registration.
  2. Students will not be issued the CityU student ID card. An approval letter will be issued for identification purpose in class or during examination.
  3. Successful applicants are advised to apply for a JULAC card from their home institution for access to CityU’s Library.
  4. Requests for withdrawal from a course should be submitted on or before the University’s course add/drop deadline. Late applications will normally not be entertained.

     

Academic Calendar and Examination

  1. There are normally 13 teaching weeks in a semester and 7 teaching weeks in a summer term. The teaching weeks and examination periods of academic year 2012-2013 are as follows:

    Teaching Period 14 January - 27 April 2013
    Examination Period 6 - 20 May 2013

  2. Students will be informed of the examination timetable and related details normally one month before the start of examination period by email.

     
  3. Study under this Scheme will not lead to a degree or other awards from CityU. Upon completion of study, an academic report will be sent to the students via their home institution. Students may also apply for a transcript according to the University's procedures.
