This programme aims to train students in the core domains of business and cutting-edge information systems that underpin the contemporary information society, so that graduates can excel in careers with professional positions that require both advanced business knowledge and IT-enabled problem solving skills.
Stream B is offered to applicants with an IT/IS-related background and focuses on developing their business domain knowledge (e.g., finance, accounting, and marketing) and management skills, so that they boost their ability to meet business needs by leveraging IT/IS applications and managing cutting-edge IT/IS projects.
Applicants admitted to this program will be considered with a high priority to continue their studies at a collaborative MSc programme (in Financial Information Services) from a top MIS department from the University of Arizona in the USA (see http://mis.eller.arizona.edu/masters/global/cityu.asp). Twelve credits that students earn at CityU from relevant courses can be transferred to the MScMIS at the University of Arizona.
Outstanding applicants will be offered with a scholarship (with an amount above HK$45,000). This year six scholarships will be provided in total.
Participants can choose to take a Residential Trip (spaces are limited) elective in the form of a field study of normally 7 to 8 days outside Hong Kong.
Continuing Education Fund (CEF): Some courses offered in this programme are eligible for the application of a subsidy from the CEF and each applicant may receive up to HK$10,000 refund within a two-year application period.#
#CEF is only applicable to Hong Kong residents.
